Press Repowers

Many 20-40 year old newspaper presses remain mechanically sound but require electrical updates. The challenges faced are justifying the return on investment and performing the upgrade without compromising existing production schedules.

Brock's press repowers go beyond a one-for-one replacement by providing a justified return on investment. Specific enhancements include:

• No selection of a master drive is required as speed regulation is executed in the master controller and all drives are torque regulators
• No load share adjustments are necessary with our Automatic Load Sharing
• Any drive can be taken off line without affecting the system’s functionality
• Production is possible even if an encoder fails
• Due to better speed control and controlled deceleration, there is a decrease in waste and less registration variation

Having completed several press repowers, we deploy a proven approach that does not impact existing production schedules. Our solution includes Drives, Motors, Drive Master(s), and a HMI for both Shafted and Shaftless press retrofits.
